Speaking of the afore mentioned studio sets, this studio creation was shot for the ad agency FPO, the client is Epiphone, a division of Gibson Guitars.

Again, this is a studio set! Much more control in the studio. All accomplished in the camera (no photoshop). The Background is a rental. A couple thousand pounds of sand and the lighting to feel like the great outdoors. Since I started shooting, in Los Angeles (many years ago), I have always had the opportunity to create sets for clients. It’s great to pull a crew together and make realistic images that would be difficult to pull off outdoors.

I’ve been working on this CD cover for my good friend and popular Austin, Texas musician Patterson Barrett. It’s a work-in-progress. Next week we should be doing the photography for the inside cover. Keep your eyes open for this amazing CD, it should be released in the next month or so. Speaking of good friends, one of the best, Patrick Cavan Brown, did the compositing of images & retouching (digital art) on this CD cover. His talents are wide and varied. Okay. This is my first blog entry. The above image recently went out in a nationwide email campaign. Just got the stats back on opened emails & click throughs to my website. So far so good.
