So here is my self portrait update. Perhaps soon to be a t-shirt. Many thanks to my artist friend, Stephen Parker. Stephen helped to design this piece and wrote the headline. Check out his art at stephenparkerart.blogspot.com.

From a series of images for Cinnabon new packaging concept.
Here is my Linkedin profile photo. It’s a self portrait from my college days. Wow, it’s back in style. Just wish I still had that much hair!

This is another ad in a series for Epiphone guitars. The small headline reads “for the love of music”. We tested many sizes and shapes of guitars to achieve and pull off this simple concept in a elegant photograph. Careful selection of a hand model was also a critical component.
Speaking of the afore mentioned studio sets, this studio creation was shot for the ad agency FPO, the client is Epiphone, a division of Gibson Guitars.

Again, this is a studio set! Much more control in the studio. All accomplished in the camera (no photoshop). The Background is a rental. A couple thousand pounds of sand and the lighting to feel like the great outdoors. Since I started shooting, in Los Angeles (many years ago), I have always had the opportunity to create sets for clients. It’s great to pull a crew together and make realistic images that would be difficult to pull off outdoors.
This image is a studio set shot for Creative Director, David Walker at HC&B. Dave is a whole lot of fun to shoot with and brings his award winning talent to every shoot.
This week, I have Ian Pollard, a Waldorf High School student, working with me for his Senior Work Experience. He also is an accomplished track athlete. Here is a portrait I did of Ian, with his track shoes & hoodie. I was teaching him about swings & tilts with large format photography and how you can control the plane of focus to help achieve the above selective focus effect. This was shot with a Hasselblad Flexbody with a digital back attached.
